Kriya Massage

Developed by Kamala Renner in 1980 Kriya Massage is different from traditional bodywork because of the emphasis on the intuitive aspect by the practitioner in flowing with the 'Kriya" movement while performing the massage. Kriya is defined as spontaneous energy movement. The strokes and techniques used in Kriya massage are a combination of energy work, Swedish, Neuromuscular, and Somato-Emotional work done in a connected smooth pattern. The healing quality of Kriya Massage is accomplished by transforming attitudes.

Reiki, (pronounced ray key) is a combination of two Japanese words rei and ki, meaning universal life energy. Reiki is an ancient laying-on of the hands healing technique that uses the life force energy to heal, balancing the subtle energies within our bodies. Reiki addresses physical, emotional, mental and spiritual imbalances. The practitioner serves as a vessel that supplies healing energies where they are most needed. Reiki energies flow out of the practitioners body through the palm of the hands while they are touching the recipients body.

Private Yoga Sessions
One hour of private yoga instruction followed by a half hour massage.

Here's what one of my students is saying about private yoga sessions: "Besides the obvious advantages of one-on-one instruction, Jessica’s approach to combining an hour of yoga followed by a half an hour of massage has been incredibly beneficial. The first hour of yoga is just the right length of time to work up a good sweat and exercise my body and mind. The follow-up massage relaxes my tissues and brings me out of the mental space the yoga took me to and back into my body. Additionally, for up to three days following one of these sessions I find my stress levels distinctly lessened and my mind sharper and clearer.”

Hypnosis Basics: The main objective of hypnosis is to achieve a relaxed, focused state of mind where a more direct connection to the subconscious can be accessed. The process of hypnotherapy facilitates a broader awareness and understanding for self improvement to occur.

  • It is natural state of consciousness similar to the dreamlike state experiAT thenced just before falling asleep or just upon waking.

  • During hypnosis one will not do anything that is against their moral convictions or ethics.

  • All hypnosis is self-hypnosis and is a skill that can be learned and developed easily.

  • When facilitated by the therapist it is meant to assist not control. The trance state is voluntary and can be relinquished at any time.

  • This is an enjoyable experience; one is guided to relax and open oneself to learning and self improvement.

*At this time I am offering Hypnotherapy sessions for stress reduction clients only.
